ATLAS COPCO MAFI-TRENCH MANUFACTURING FACILITY

Santa Maria, California

The project consisted of a 50,000 square foot engineering and management office and a 180,000 square foot heavy manufacturing on a 20-acre site in the City of Santa Maria.

Omni Design, Inc. provided full entitlement services including documentation for a zoning re-designation and land Use permits. In January of 2015, the project was put on hold due to global decline in oil and natural gas prices.  It was resurrected in early 2020 to explore options for a smaller facility to correspond with a reduction in global demand for fossil fuels.

We worked with the client from conception through construction documents, including providing programing and site selection services. Provisions for future expansions were also incorporated into the entitlement process as well as the construction documents.

The site improvements including LID parking and circulation, landscaping, storm water retention, and intensive utility infrastructure including an on-site sewage system. Per the corporate requirements of Atlas Copco all Buildings and site improvements had been designed to achieve LEED (Silver) certification and exceed the minimum requirements of the California Green Building Standards.
